The film centers around the story of Hemant Oberoi (played by Arjun Rampal), the deputy manager of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, who finds himself at the forefront of the crisis. Alongside a group of hotel staff, including chef Hemant Oberoi (played by Vicky Kaushal) and receptionist Nilesh (played by Abhishek Bachchan), they put their lives on the line to protect their guests.

On November 26, 2008, a group of terrorists, affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant organization, launched a coordinated attack on several locations in Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The terrorists, armed with guns and explosives, took hundreds of people hostage, wreaking havoc on the city.

The movie skillfully weaves together the intense, nail-biting sequences of the hotel's siege, as the staff and guests face unimaginable terror. With each minute ticking by, the situation becomes more dire, and the group's chances of survival seem increasingly slim.

The 2018 film "Hotel Mumbai" is a heart-pounding, true-story-based account of the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India. Directed by Dev Patel, in his directorial debut, the movie masterfully recreates the harrowing events that unfolded at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

"Hotel Mumbai" received critical acclaim upon its release, with praise for its thought-provoking and visceral portrayal of the events. The film holds a respectable rating on various review aggregation websites, with many considering it a powerful tribute to the real-life heroes of the tragedy.
